    JNapster - a Napster client written in Java.

Who am I?
=========
My name is Michael Ransburg and I'm from Austria. My E-Mail address is
daneel@tux.org.

Additional information about me and my projects is available on my homepage:

Why did I develop JNapster?
===========================
The primary reason was that I wanted to extend my java knowledge.
Additionally I do like developing in java, it is a very high level
programming language and it's nice to see the differences to other languages
I develop in, like perl, c or c++.

So...what is it exactly?
========================
JNapster is a java implementation of the Napster client. I try to offer
a similar GUI as the Napster client, but I also try to do some thing better
than they did.

You can find information on the Napster Windows client at:
http://www.napster.com

I'm in no way affilitated with them.

Current Version
===============
This is version 0.1. I tested it on
    - Windows [95, 98, NT]
    - Linux RedHat

but it should run on any platform with a Java 1.2 JRE / JDK.

Installation
============
Please see the INSTALL file.

Known Bugs:
===========
The remote directory is not read in a clean way. Depending on the ftp server
you may still get some lines of the greeting shown as files.
