Junk Spy 3.0 is now available. Junk Spy installs between your email program and your mail server where it watches for, and filters out, junk mail. Junk Spy's logic engine uses a database of known spammer sites, and other detection clues. Thanks to Gary Wong for the news.

Warp Expander version 0.6 has been released (12/9/2003). This is a front-end for command line un-archiver programs such as unzip, unrar, unpack and others. It is a clone of BeOS Expander.

SmartBackup version 1.1 has been released (12/8/2003). This program takes the time and guess work out of backing up large drives or directories to CD, DVD or other low-capacity media, with smart disc spanning.

Program Editor version 2.32 has been released (12/7/2003). This is a programmable PM-based text editor which has many features, including unlimited undo, redo, file template support, file access sharing controls for group work, and more.

lxLite version 1.33 has been released (12/5/2003). This is a collection of very useful utilities. The namesake utility compresses executables, but also included are a program to unlock locked files (very handy for system updates), a program to remove EA's from files, and a couple other utilities.

IBM has updated (12/2/2003) the printer drivers for postscript, inkjets, laserjets, and plotters to version 30.800. As usual, there are some additions to the lists of supported printers. From os2.jp.

DRIVE version 2.00 has been released (12/2/2003). This is a little freeware PM applet that quickly shows the amount of space available on every drive. From VOICE News.

Sslurp! version 2.67 has been released. Sslurp! is a web page mirroring / retrieval program, similar to wget and curl, but with a GUI interface. From OS2World.

Papyrus Office 10.20 has been released (11/29/2003) in German. This office program includes word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, and relational database. The English version is still stuck (8/5/2000) at version 8.23.

Odin User Manual Release 3 has been released (11/12/2003). This is some written documentation for Project Odin in INF format.

dSync/2 version 0.1.6z has been released (11/10/2003). This mirroring tool is for storing important data on a spare hard drive or partition for quick restoration. From os2.jp.

mTelnet version 1.0 beta 12 has been released (11/10/2003); it is a telnet client that features: zmodem, ansi, vt100, phonebook, color backscroll, and it's free.

InJoy Dialer version 3.0 has been released (11/6/2003). This Internet dialer features firewall protection, gateway capability, and IPSec VPN capability.

FM/2 Taskbar version 1.08 has been released (11/1/2003). This is a a utility program that works in conjunction with the WPS Window List, program objects and Launchpad to control what's running on your system and where it runs. The source code is also available.

An OS/2 port of Syslog has been released (10/30/2003). It includes a library and the source code.

Matrix/2, a demo for a gaming library under development, has been updated (10/29/2003). It now requires WarpOverlay. From OS2.org.

MP3 Automagic CD Cover Creator version 1.1 has been released (10/26/2003). This Java program creates printable CD covers for MP3 CDs, and works with Innotek's Java 1.4.1. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

Elvis version 2.2 has been released (10/21/2003). Elvis is a VI/EX clone with additional features, such as syntax highlighting, browsing modes for HTML, MAN and LaTeX files, support of the HTTP and FTP protocols and multiple windows.

pwICQ, an ICQ clone for OS/2 PM, has been updated (10/15/2003).

CPU Monitor version 1.30 has been released (10/15/2003). This is a graphical display of current cpu usage, interrupt time and memory information.

IBM has released (10/8/2003) a driver for the Adaptec u320 SCSI host adapters. From VOICE News.

Realtek has updated (10/5/2003) their driver for the Realtek ALC-650 AC'97 sound chipset to version 1.41. From VOICE News.

Tcl/Tk version 8.3.5 beta1 has been ported (10/4/2003) to OS/2. This is a toolkit used to create and run portable script applications.

BTTV version 0.7 has been released (10/1/2003). This is a port of the Linux BTTV driver, with radio and TV working. Included is a small radio application, a small TV application, and the source is available (along with a LXAPI32 support driver for porting Linux drivers). From VOICE News.

Hacker's view (hiew) version 6.86 has been released (10/1/2003). This is a dis/assembler with support for NE, LE, LX, and PE modules.

Internet Assistant version 1.11 has been released (9/28/2003). This is a wizard-style app that configures dial-up programs with prepared provider data. Currently supported are SLIPPM, ISDNPM, and SafeFire as dial-up programs; and Netscape 4.x and Warpzilla for configuration of serial, ISDN, and DSL connections. From OS2.org.

wvWare version 1.0.0 has been ported (9/25/2003) to OS/2. This is a suite of applications that converts Microsoft Word Documents into other formats, such as HTML, LaTeX, ABW, WML, Text, and more.

Mozilla PluginPak Installer version 1.01 has been released (9/22/2003). This allows you to install the OS/2 Multimedia Plug-Ins to Mozilla, without needing Netscape installed.

There are some REXX libraries available: RexxRE 1.0.1 is a regular expressions library, and RxHash 1.0.0 is an associative arrays library.

cdrutils version 1.3 has been released (9/13/2003). This is a set of command line utilities to enhance the usability of cdrtools.

NFTP 1.72 beta 4 has been released (9/12/2003). This is a VIO FTP client.

Logviewer/2 version 1.04 has been released (9/12/2003). This is a program to view, analyze, and manage log files in a GUI interface.

cdox version 1.0.3 has been released (9/10/2003). This is a powerful CD-Cover Generator, which requires Java 1.4. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

PYRxUtil has been released (9/4/2003). This REXX library provides tools for keyboard input, screen input/output, input/output with files/pipes, redirection of standard files, using system clipboard, using dialog message boxes, obtaining general system and CPU information, management for processes, windows and tasks, system termination, and power management. It comes with an INF manual, and some useful example scripts.

tin version 1.7.0 has been ported (9/4/2003) to OS/2. This is a text-mode easy-to-use Usenet newsreader featuring ANSI color, automatic downloads, yEnc support, easy filtering, and much more.

vioroute version 0.2.1 beta has been released (9/3/2003). This is a drop-in replacement for tnpipe+telnetdc for use with openssh, telnet or any other similar tool.

PMdiff version 4.0c has been released (9/3/2003). This file comparison and merging tool is now released as a free download. From OS2.org.

CW-Multimedia classes version 0.2.7 have been released (9/1/2003). These classes are for seamless integration of the MMIO procedures for MP3 and OGG files; after installation Ogg and MP3 files are treated the same way by the WPS as the other audio files, with icons and menus. There is also a new Media Folder, which plays any audio class known to OS/2. It also includes a replacement JPEG class, and support for PNG image files.

MMAudioPak2 contains codecs for FLAC, MP3, and OGG Vorbis, which have been updated to version 0.3.0, 0.4.3, and 0.3.2, respectively. With these codecs the OS/2 multimedia system is able to play (and convert to WAV) FLAC, MP3, and OGG Vorbis files without any additional software. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

ShutKill version 1.01 has been released. This is a command line program to manipulate the eCS shutdown "kill list", as provided by eStyler.

Compart has released (8/29/2003) updated image format filters and scanner drivers for Impos/2. It supports scanners from Agfa, Epson, Escom, HP, Fujitsu, Microtek, Mustek, Canon, Ricoh, IBM, Bell+Howell, and C.T.S. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

slrn version 0.9.8.0 has been ported (8/26/2003) to OS/2. This is a text mode newsreader that works both online and offline, is fully configurable, supports scoring, and more.

BlackBox version 0.65.0 and XCDRoast version 0.98 alpha 14 have been ported (8/26/2003) to XFree86/OS2. BlackBox is a window manager, and XCDRoast is a GUI for CDRTools.

TabTray version 0.1 has been released (8/24/2003). This is a small applet which allows you to access an xCenter tray using a single mouse click. Thanks to Alessandro Cantatore for the news.

WPS Class Manager version 0.1 has been released (8/23/2003). This allows you to register new WPS classes, deregister existing WPS classes, force deregister WPS classes by removing them from the OS2SYS.INI data, and modify the path or the name of the DLLs associated with a WPS class name. Dr.Dialog Control version 0.1.4 has been released (8/23/2003). This is a DLL for use with DrDialog which provides a percent bar, fly over help control, an image control which displays any image file supported by OS/2, and a directory picker. Full source is included, under the BSD license.

DTape beta 10 has been released. Dtape is a OS/2 PM program which provides the facilities to record and replay digital audio directly to/from disk - a digital tape recorder. Features include peak level monitoring and unlimited .WAV file sizes (up to 4GB). From VOICE News.

The utility Win95Key has been updated (8/20/2003) to version 3.09. Win95Key is a keyboard macro utility, that allows you to program the extra keys on your keyboard to do various things.

HB Object Inspector version 0.5.0c has been released (8/17/2003). This is a free clone of Object Desktop's Object Inspector, with the ability to create WPI packages automatically from WPS folders.

Xerces-C validating XML-Parser version 2.3.0 has been ported (8/16/2003) to OS/2.

Bob Eager has some lightweight mail programs that have been updated (8/10/2003). Included are basic SMTP and POP3 servers and clients. From VOICE News.

VisualAge Smalltalk version 6.0.1 is available for free download (requires registration), for non-commercial use. It is listed as a FixPak, but is a functionally complete package, and will not expire. From VOICE News.

MyPod version 0.2.3 for the Apple iPod music player has been released (8/2/2003). It requires Java 1.4, and allows you to manipulate playlists and more for the iPod device.

A nice Mahjongg game called Shisen/2 has been updated (7/19/2003) to version 1.3.1.

IBM has released (7/1/2003) a pair of wireless LAN drivers, one that supports the Mini-PCI 22P7701 found in the ThinkPad T30, and one that supports the PC Card-128 09N9904 T Series. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get these. From OS2World.

IBM has released (6/26/2003) GRADD A.097 video drivers. This supports some ATI, C&T, S3, Matrox, NeoMagic, and Trident cards. Note that you do not need this if you are using other GRADD drivers, such as SciTech SNAP Graphics. Thanks to Klaus Staedtler for the news.

PmApm version 0.1 has been released (6/16/2003). This is a GUI interface to APM/2 that allows you to use APM modes "standby", "suspend" and "poweroff". Thanks to Martin Iturbide for the news.

HOUSE/2 version 2.1a has been released (6/9/2003). This is designed for the X10 home automation controllers CM11x/CM11/CM12U allowing timer and macro event programming to control lights or appliances.

IBM has updated (6/8/2003) the video drivers for the ThinkPad T20 / T21 / T22 / T23 laptops to version 7.00.37.

Normalize version 0.7.6 has been ported (6/7/2003) to OS/2. Normalize is an overly complicated tool for adjusting the volume of wave files to a standard volume level. This is useful for things like creating mp3 mixes, where different recording levels on different albums can cause the volume to vary greatly from song to song.

The Perl Compatible Regular Expressions Library (PCRE) version 4.3 has been ported (6/5/2003) to OS/2. It is available as a regular DLL, and as a REXX-callable DLL.

Rocco Foti has released (6/3/2003) CDR/RW Wizard version 1.0 RC7, a GUI wizard interface to CDRecord/2 to burn CDR/CDRW (data, audio, etc). It now features BootWizard, for creating bootable CDs, and CDRDAO/2. Also released (4/21/2000) is RadioTrackFR version 1.0 beta 3, an AIMS Radio Track program.

QuakeWorld 2.40 client and source code have been updated (6/1/2003) for OS/2. Also available (9/27/2001) is the server.

IBM has released (5/28/2003) Streaming LPR Port Driver. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get this. From VOICE News.

Backup Demon/2 version 0.912 beta was released a while back. It secures data on any medium, including ftp servers, fixed disks or CD burners (no tape support however). From VOICE News.

Run_Java has been updated (5/26/2003). This will create a "Create Java Object" program object on your desktop. Just drop a .jar file on the object to create a program object for the .jar file. It will also create a "Run Jars" object -- this will allow you to start most modern java apps by just double clicking on the jar file. Thanks to Cary Renquist for the news.

EXIF-O-Matic version 1.1.8 has been released (5/20/2003). This is a Java tool for dealing with the meta-data within image files created by digital cameras; it can export the information to TXT and HTML.

DynDNS version 3.2 has been released (5/11/2003). This is a GUI for DDUP 3.0.1, it supports all well-known ddup attitudes.

ColourManager/2 version 1.1 beta has been released (5/10/2003). This new utility allows you to set system color schemes. Thanks to Richard Castle for the news.

PGPTools version 1.50 has been released (5/2/2003). This is a front end for PGP 5.0, which is now GPL. It includes PGPKeys version 1.01, which gives access to PGP key management functions. Thanks to Bernd Giesen for the news.

Xact version 8, a chart publishing system, has been released. The integrated vector graphics editor allows you to to add objects and captions for illustrations and descriptive texts. Thanks to Jouko Jylanki for the news.

AutoScroll has been updated (4/23/2003), and now works remarkably similar to the version I created previously (it looks like he used my autoscroll.js patches). AutoScroll is an addon for Mozilla and Phoenix that allows autoscrolling functionality similar to HotScroll and XWorkPlace. For those unfamiliar with this, when you middle click on a page, you can then move the mouse up and down to have the page scroll.

LDCOPY version 1.1 has been released (4/19/2003). This is a simple OS/2 driver for copying files while CONFIG.SYS is being processed.

BladeEnc version 0.94.2, an MP3 encoder, has been ported (4/17/2003) to OS/2. Get the newest version from Hobbes.

An unzip plugin for Netscape and Mozilla has been updated (4/17/2003).

Marty Amodeo has added (4/14/2003) symbolic link support to the EMX libraries, and many of the common utilities. It utilizes OS/2 extended attributes to emulate symbolic links.

Squeak version 3.5 has been ported (4/13/2003) to OS/2. Squeak is the open source smalltalk. This port includes full network access and handles native sound and uses DIVE for fast video. Squeak is written in itself - you can inspect, change and extend any part of the language, application, or even the virtual machine, while it is running.

SmartPack for Mesa/2 version 1.1 has been released. This is a collection of little tools to use with the spread sheet application Mesa/2 by Sundial Systems. From VOICE News.

uudeview version 0.5.18 has been ported (4/12/2003) to OS/2. This is a smart multi-file multi-part decoder for uuencoded, xxencoded, Base64 and BinHex encoded files. It also includes a similarly powerful encoder.

Stardock has released Stellar Frontier version 1.10a, a free multi-player game. This game is also bundled with eComStation.

Poor Man's PDF version 1.0.5 has been released (4/4/2003). This is a project to easily make PDF files under OS/2. It is implemented as a printer port driver, and requires GhostScript. dskxtrct version 1.3 has been released (4/2/2003). This tool can extract files from DSK diskette image files that IBM provides. You can use it to extract FixPak files and apply them from the hard drive.

JJSCDROM has been updated (3/28/2003). This is an alternative to IBM's OS2CDROM.DMD, which fixes some problems and adds a few features.

Data Representations has released (3/24/2003) Simplicity for Java 2.0. It features: full support of AWT & Swing; import any JavaBeans; programmer's editor; Canvas Composer; dynamic Classpath editor; auto package-naming; and Code Sourcerer. Upgrade pricing is available. From VOICE News.

ThirdEye version 2.20 has been updated. ThirdEye is a universal digital camera manipulation program, that supports cameras from Agfa, Olympus, Epson, Nikon, Sanyo, Kodak, HP, and Konica. It has a REXX interface, a NetDrive plugin, and both PM and VIO versions of the application. This allows you to browse the pictures in your digital camera with your favorite filemanager or the WPS. Polarbar Mailer version 1.25a has been released (3/22/2003). This Java e-mail program came from decompiling the last released version of JStreet Mailer, and permission was obtained from Innoval to continue the development.

Jikes version 1.18 has been ported (3/5/2003) to OS/2. Jikes is a high performance Java byte-code compiler. It is much faster than JAVAC, has better dependency checking, and has stricter error checking.

WebMail/2 is a 'hotmail.com-style' system for OS/2, now (3/3/2003) on version 14.0. WebMail/2 runs along with your existing pop3/smtp server, and it can read the user database of Weasel, IPS, InetMail, and ZXMail.

CW-USBMSD version 1.2b has been released (1/28/2003). This package contains drivers to use USB mass storage class compliant devices, and supports other, maybe more, devices than the IBM drivers. There is also Yuri Dario's patch for IBM's usbmsd.add, with support for the Olympus digital cameras, which was updated (3/3/2003) to version 1.3b.

Martin Kiewitz has made patches that allow some DOS games to run under OS/2. GoSierra version 3 (3/2/2003) allows old Sierra and Dynamix games to work using Soundblaster sound. Be sure to check out Martin's DOS games compatibility info page.

rxBlFish version 1.02 has been released (2/28/2003). This is a REXX interface to the BlowFish encryption tool.

IBM has updated (2/27/2003) the driver for the internal 56K Lucent modem, which is used on some ThinkPads. You need a Software Choice subscription or access to eCS updates to get this. Also available (10/8/2002) is a beta driver which supports V.90. From OS2World.

Pointer Pack 1.2 has been released (2/24/2003). This is a package of several mouse pointer sets for OS/2.

VCDROM version 0.90b has been released (2/23/2003). This is a replacement for the IBM version. From VOICE News.

IMDB DiffTools version 2.5 has been released (2/22/2003). The DiffTools package allows you to download updates from IMDB and apply them to your existing copy of the data files. Thanks to Christian Hennecke for the info.

POSIX/2 beta 0.1.1 has been released (2/21/2003). This adds BSD interface additions to EMX, to give OS/2 a complete POSIX / Single Unix Specification evironment. This should make porting Unix applications easier. You can find binaries of the latest version on os2ports.com, and the older (complete archive) alpha 3 on Hobbes.

Wayne Swanson has released (2/11/2003) a small selection of free utilities. It contains CRLF - Convert LF to CRLF or vice versa on any selected file; DC - Directory Change changes directories at the command line (like cd) using aliases; FF - Find Files by name (or wildcard) on any drive, tree or individual directory; RT - Replace Text replaces any string with a new string in selected file(s); SLP - Search LibPath searches the LIBPATH for DLL files; SP - Search Path searches the SET PATH statement for file(s).

The WarpDoctor Rexx Plug-in version 1.02 has been released (2/8/2003). This is a browser plugin that works like the Java plugin, but for Rexx.

Wayne Swanson has created a patched version of ForeSpace, the PovRay frontend, to cure a "Black Icon" problem in the original 0.42b release.

Rexx2Nrx, a 'classic Rexx to NetRexx converter', has been updated to version 4.01. Rexx2Nrx attempts to convert classic Rexx programs to NetRexx. A runtime package is provided including the 'classic Rexx builtin functions' not available in NetRexx, like Date/Time, File IO, builtin Stack, etc.

ISDNPM version 3.03r1 has been released (2/4/2003). This is an ISDN dialer for PPP, masquerading, and more. You can find the latest version on Yahoo Groups or Hobbes.

fetchmail version 6.2.1b1 has been ported (2/3/2003) to OS/2. Also available (2/22/2002) is another port of version 5.9.8. This can fetch mail by POP or IMAP, and forward by SMTP to local system or elsewhere.

WarpMesaGL alpha minus 1.47, an OS/2 port of Mesa 5.1, the OpenGL clone, is now (2/2/2003) available. It includes sample programs as well as the source code. The latest version can be found on Hobbes.

startpmm version 0.2 has been released (2/1/2003). This is a small program to integrate PMMail with Mozilla.

cdrecordProDVD version 2.0 has been released (1/30/2003). This program allows you to write DVDs; it requires a license key to write more than 1GB. From VOICE News.

IBM has released (1/30/2003) LSI Logic SCSI Driver version 1.01.00. The driver supports the LSI53C1020 and LSI53C1030 adapters. From OS2.org.

WarpZip version 3.9 has been released (1/28/2003). This program will now search for, list, view, extract and do "near seamless" installations from ZIP, ARJ, RAR, LZH, TGZ, GZ, WPI, and OS/2 "packed" file formats. It also features a Download PreProcessor that will selectively move your downloaded zip files to any directory you choose, test them for integrity, virus test them, and queue them up for later review. USBMOUNTD has been released (1/24/2003). This is a utility for automatic mounting of USB media devices; plugging a new device in automatically updates the list of removable media and assigns a drive letter.

PM Make version 1.34 has been released (1/18/2003). This is a PM based make program that is tools independent. It can manage projects spread over directories, and create output files of various formats in one make. It provides plugin dll's, push button control of tools options, library selection, selective backup, restore and more.

Mailman 2.0.13 has been ported (1/17/2003) to OS/2. This is a mailing list manager, and includes a web-based interface.

DrawIt version 3.5 has been released. DrawIt is a vector oriented drawing tool that can import PCX, GIF, BMP, TIFF, XBM, TARGA, PIC, JPEG, MET, and JSP. Thanks to Jasper de Keijzer for the news.

J-Euro version 1.01 has been released (1/4/2003). This is a European currency convertor for Java that features "on-the-fly" conversion of all currencies.
