Drivers for the VIA Tech. 8233/8235 integrated sound chip have been updated (12/28/2004). This is an AC97 sound driver for VIA Technologies KT266A / KT333 / KT400 (8233 / 8233C / 8233A / 8235 south bridge) with IOCTL90 support. There is also an optional package that has ALC-201A patches, diagnostics utility, startup sound driver and source code.
Several SDL games have been ported (12/22/2004) to OS/2. Included are Abe's Amazing Adventure 1.0, 2Pong 0.6, Formido 1.0, Rock Dodger 0.6, Tile World 1.0, SDLZombies 1.0.0, SDLRoids 1.3.4, SnakeMe 1.0, UHexen 0.601, xrick, and Tower Toppler 1.0.5. LDBkup 1.0.2aa has been released. Large Drive Backup will back up an 80 GB volume as easily as a 1 GB partition. This does backups to disk (not tape), supports FULL and DIFFERENTIAL backups, automatically handling archive bits, and utilizes RAR to do the actual backup.

Release 10 of an OS/2 port of UnixODBC has been released (11/14/2004). These are programs for ODBC DSN administration, a PM query program, and database drivers for text files, DBF files, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and FreeTDS (Sybase and Microsoft SQL). They also work with the QE database drivers supplied with DBExpert, Lotus Smartsuite, and the OS/2 DB2 driver. There are RexxSQL modules and sample Rexx programs as well. Daniela Engert has refreshed (11/14/2004) a patch to OS2LDR that fixes the OS/2 >64MB memory detection defect found with some recent BIOSes. This release is from June 2003, but wasn't uploaded to Hobbes until now.

Album Grabber version 0.80 has been released. This is basically a bot that grabs album covers off of www.allmusic.com, which requires Java 1.3.
RexxSeek is a replacement program for PMseek, the file and text search utility provided with OS/2. Unlike PMseek, RexxSeek can handle filenames containing blank spaces, and can be called from a command line. It can optionally create shadows or program objects in a results folder. From VOICE News.
LEDPanel version 0.8.1 has been released (10/20/2004). This is an OS/2 bitmap font resembling the digits (and letters) of a LED display. NpWrap Preview Release 1 has been released (10/2/2004). RPM version 4.04 has been ported (9/15/2004) to OS/2. Also available (2/19/2001) is an older port of RPM 3.06. RPM is the RedHat Package Manager; you can extract or install files from Linux CDROMs or Linux FTP sites, and make rpm packages for OS/2 users.

RealTek 8139 network driver version 3.23 has been released (7/28/2004). It should work on Realtek 8139 / 8130 / 810x chips. There is also a RTL8139 CardBus enabler, which includes a patch for PCMCIA.SYS to allow CardBus access functions, and a tool to view information about inserted PCCard and CardBus cards.
OS2CSM has been updated (7/28/2004). This allows customization of config.sys during OS/2 bootup to adjust things like cache, drivers to load, and more.

DaniN512.FLT version 0.1.6 is now (7/14/2004) available. This filter driver allows removable media with large sectors (1024 and 2048 bytes/sector) to work with other drivers which only support 512-byte sectors.
XNap version 2.5r3 has been released (7/14/2004); also available (6/20/2004) is 3.0-pre1. This is a file sharing client to access the Gnutella and OpenNap networks, written in Java. It is similar to LimeWire, but has more features, including a very fast GUI and less need for RAM.
Innotek Runtime version 1.12 (build 20) has been released (7/9/2004). This is an Odin-based OS/2 Kit that is used to allow some Win32 applications (such as Adobe Acrobat and OpenOffice) to run on OS/2.

The OS/2 port of xine has been updated (6/25/2004). This is a GPL video player with source provided; MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video files are known to work, eventually all formats supported by xine on Linux should be working on OS/2. xine for OS/2 is provided as an MCD (Media Control Device), which means it integrates with MMOS2, and any WPS-aware multimedia player can use it. up2tb version 1.0.2 has been released (4/22/2004). This FLT driver allows for disk drives up to 2 Terrabytes to be used. It has been tested with an external SCSI Raid array with 570 GB capacity, and works with native hardware ADD SCSI drivers (use DaniS506 for IDE), by altering the CHS disk geometry information passed to OS2DASD.DMD.
The DCF-77 driver has been updated (4/17/2004) to version 6.0. The DCF-77 is a RF transmitter in Germany, which transmits the German local time and may be received in many European countries. xdskf version 1.00 has been released. This program builds self-extracting executables from diskette image files, which can run under both OS/2 and DOS.

OS/2 Kit for Acrobat Reader 4.05 R4 has been released (3/2/2004); also available is 5.1 preview 1. This is Acrobat Reader for Windows that uses an Odin-based OS/2 Kit (Innotek Runtime, version 1.06 required) that allows it to run on OS/2. VCDGear version 1.76 has been ported (2/17/2004) to OS/2. This program converts to/from various VCD (Video CD) MPEG formats, including .raw and .bin CD track formats, .mpg, .dat, etc. Helpful in mastering VCDs (or extracting MPEG data from VCDs for computer playback).
Piton test fix1 has been released (2/15/2004). This is a "eat'em all" game, similar to the old "snake" games.

Link Guard Solutions has released (1/12/2004) SafeFire Firewall 1.2.2 beta. It is now freeware; LGS will still support it and continue to fix bugs, but future development of this product line is stopped in favor of SafeFire Links. Registered users of previous versions of SafeFire Firewall will receive a free upgrade to SafeFire Links 2.0 SOHO as soon as it is available. ConfigTool 1.3.0 update 2 has been released (1/10/2004). This is a freeware CONFIG.SYS editor with a searchable database which explains the entries, and has sorting and checking routines. This is meant to be the successor of ConfigInfo and ConfigMaint, and is based on the same database.
World Clock Gadgets for WPS Wizard has been released (1/10/2004). These are some REXX scripts for displaying the current date and time and list of upcoming events on the background of the desktop. It requires WPS Wizard, as well as World Clock version 1.40 fix 4, recently released (1/1/2004). World Clock is a configurable clock with Daylight Savings Time, Stopwatch, Alarm and Program launcher for 1 and 9 cities from 360+ cities in the provided City list. The OS/2 Command Line Utilities comprises a suite of native 32-bit OS/2 commands that provide many useful abilities for the OS/2 user, from searching archive files and subdirectories for filenames, through searching text files for patterns, to improved versions of several of the commands that are supplied with OS/2 itself that allow one to remove more of the 16-bit vestiges that remain in OS/2 Warp.
