The SIM Instant Messenger version 0.9.4.3 OS/2 port has been updated (12/5/2007). This is a powerful plugin-based multi-protocol instant messenger, which includes support for ICQ, AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, and Jabber IM protocols, and also can post into LiveJournal. From os2.jp.

Recoll version 1.8.2 has been released (11/27/2007). This is a personal full text search tool. It is based on the Xapian back-end, with a feature-rich WPS graphical interface, and is licensed under the GPL. From VOICE News.

MultiZilla 1.8.3.4e has been released (11/24/2007). This is an extension that adds more features to the tabbed interface in Seamonkey.

FreePM version 4.21 has been released (10/31/2007). This displays the available free space on any partition.

Paul Smedley has released (10/20/2007) an OS/2 build of Valknut version 0.3.11. This is a graphical (Qt) client for the peer to peer network called Direct Connect; it was earlier known as dcgui-qt.

Hermes version 1.6 has been ported (10/6/2007) to OS/2. This is an SMTP proxy, with features designed to prevent spam, including: SMTP banner delay, Throttling, Greylisting, DNSBL, and Sender Policy Framework. The software is free, but you can sponsor development. From VOICE News.

Juergen Ulbts has released (10/3/2007) Azureus4eCS version 0.1.0. This package makes it possible to use Azureus 2.5.0.4 on OS/2, by using SWTSwing, a Swing implementation of SWT. Azureus is a P2P client to download files using the BitTorrent protocol.

Juergen Ulbts has released (10/3/2007) Eclipse Enabler version 1.1.0. This package makes it possible to use Eclipse 3.2.2 on OS/2, by using SWTSwing, a Swing implementation of SWT. SWTSwing is also an open bounty at OS2World.com.

JIP version 0.95 has been released (10/1/2007). This is a Java client for DynDNS.org and other dynamic DNS providers, which requires Java 1.4.2.

NDPISO version 2.5 has been released (9/5/2007). This is a plugin for NetDrive, allowing you to mount ISO (CD-ROM) images.

Caravan has been updated (8/31/2007) to version 3.59. This is an application server which has built-in http, smtp, ftp and database engines. It also provides a scripting language, a dynamic compiler and basic features needed to develop, test and run applications.

eThemes version 1.2.5b has been released (8/30/2007). This is an eCS theme installer, which comes packaged with 135 window themes. From OS2World.

cddvdrtools version 1.9 has been released (8/24/2007). This is is a set of command line programs that allows to record CD/DVD/BluRay media, based on cdrecord 2.01.01a34. From OS2.org.

UniClip version 0.3.0 has been released (8/23/2007). This is designed to allow OS/2 programs to exchange Unicode text using the clipboard with other native programs, or with Odinized programs. It is compiled using Odin source code, so it shares the same clipboard formats recognized in Win32 native programs. Note that it only works for programs specifically developed for it, such as Lucide and OpenOffice 2.0.x.

BogoFilter version 1.1.5 has been ported (8/23/2007) to OS/2. PMMBogoFilter version 0.6.1 is also available (4/9/2006). This is a set of REXX scripts to allow PMMail to use BogoFilter, a Bayesian SPAM filter program.

TrafficVisor III has been updated (8/22/2007). This is a program to collect and analyze TCP/IP traffic. From OS2.org.

Plextor control tool version 0.0.2 has been released (8/20/2007). This is a tool for updating Plextor firmware and configuring some settings on Plextor CD and DVD drives.

Lotus has released (8/13/2007) SmartSuite 1.7 Fixpack 3 Patch Release #3 (OS207IN3) that fixes some Approach issues. Some earlier patches can also be found there. From VOICE News.

Splint version 3.1.2 has been ported (8/11/2007) to OS/2. Splint (formerly lclint) is a tool for statically checking C programs for security vulnerabilities and coding mistakes.

Smart Cache Loader version 0.31 has been released (8/10/2007). This is a very configurable web grabber with special Smart Cache support.

Daniela Engert has released (8/2/2007) DaniATAPI version 0.4.0. DaniATAPI is a replacement for IBM's ATAPI drivers (IBMIDECD, IBMATAPI, PCM2ATA.ADD, and OS2PCARD.DMD). It features support for ZIP-250, including full media swapping, and even booting from ZIP. It has faster 32bit PIO when used with danis506, and devices can be used as SCSI, for use with programs like CDRecord. It now requires DaniS506 version 1.8.0 or later. From VOICE News.

coretemp version 0.0.1 has been released (7/19/2007). This is a CPU internal temperature sensor monitor for Intel Core 2 Duo and similar CPUs. Thanks to Gary Wong for the news.

SEEK version 1.0 has been released (7/15/2007). This utility searches for files and directories on your system, and sorts the results. It can also launch apps, search for text strings, find extended attributes, and copy tree data to the clipboard. Thanks to Gary Wong for the info.

PAF for OS/2 version 1.20 has been released. This is an object oriented runtime environment that enhances various OS/2 components. It includes a new PM switch list, IPF extensions enhancing view.exe, extensions for OS/2's Help Manager and a SOM based runtime environment for new WPS applications.

Iconomize version 0.81 has been released (7/12/2007). This is an INI maintenance tool that lets you eliminate duplicate icon data in os2.ini. Iconomize was created to demonstrate the features of Remote Workplace Server.

Remote Workplace Server version 0.80 has been released (7/9/2007). This enables a program to invoke any class or object method or any SOM function in the WPS process without the use of SOM or DSOM. Data that is accessible or meaningful only in the WPS process (e.g. a buffer or object pointer) can be copied or converted to make it available to the calling process. RWS is an open-source project licensed under the generous terms of the Mozilla Public License. It includes server & client dlls, complete source code, extensive documentation, and demo programs.

oo version 1.10 has been released (7/5/2007). This is a WPS commandline tool, that can be used to open, locate, and list WPS objects, assign setup strings, popup their menus, get info, even "drop" files on program objects. From VOICE News.

FPos version 0.80 has been released (7/5/2007). This is an INI maintenance tool that lets you delete unwanted folder position entries. This is a program that demonstrates the features of Remote Workplace Server. From VOICE News.

Vladest has released (6/25/2007) a "post-NetLabs" build of WarpVision. Some notes about the release: it uses an integrated codec for WMV files instead of using Odin to load a Win32 codec, and the result is not as good as before (no post-processing); prior to WarpVision being a NetLabs project, it violated the GPL, and it is expected that will be true again. Still available (5/23/2006) from NetLabs is WarpVision version 1.0.1. This is a player for DivX-3, DivX-4, DivX-5, XViD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVI, and ASF, with mp3/ac3 audio, DVD support, video overlay support, and is skinnable. WarpVision is based on GPL code; at least some of the source for it is in NetLabs CVS. There are also some Windows codecs you can use via Odin. There is also a list of open bugs.

all2iso version 0.2 has been ported (6/20/2007) to OS/2. This is a collection of tools for converting CD images to ISO format, including BlindWrite, CDRWin, CloneCD, DiscJuggler, Alcohol, Nero, raw, MacOSX, and more.

MailReader/2 ICE version 3.00 beta 5 has been released to registered users. Larry Tawa now owns the source code; to register you must donate a minimum of USD $35 for a one year subscription to PetSmart Charities online, and forward a copy of the email receipt with the headers intact. Security/2 version 0.4.5 has been released (5/27/2007). This provides user-based security, allowing you to restrict users to create, read, write, delete certain files, execute certain processes, and kill only their user processes.

sane2twain version 0.90 has been released (5/3/2007). This is an open source TWAIN interface that will enable programs like PMView and Maul Publisher to acquire images from your scanner, via the SANE library. You should get TAME working before attempting to use sane2twain. From VOICE News.

PM Downloader version 1.02 has been released (4/29/2007). This is an interactive multithreaded network retriever which supports HTTP and FTP protocols for downloading files.

Java GUI version 1.8.1 has been released (4/29/2007). This is a GUI front end for running programs with Java.

The HTML editor (X)HTML-Format and the analysis tool WebAnalysis have been combined to create OpenWebSuite, currently (4/21/2007) at version 1.0 RC. This open source web tool requires Java 1.3 or higher. Thanks to Thomas Frey for the info.

The Broadcom BCM4401 NIC driver has been updated (4/18/2007) to version 1.05.04; it is currently a test version.

Jigsaw version 2.2.6 has been released (4/10/2007). This is a web server written entirely in Java, provided by the W3C organization.

Zip Control version 3.0.14 has been released (4/8/2007). This is a Java frontend to Zip / UnZip / PKZIP. Archive functions supported include: viewing, deleting, printing, unzipping, create new, encryption / decryption, test-run, and virus scanning.

YSM version 2.9.9.1 has been released (3/29/2007). This is a portable open source console ICQ client.

UpdCD version 2.61 has been released (3/25/2007); this is an update that should be installed over an existing 2.6x version. It has a PM interface and supports many OS/2 addons. It can be used to update Warp 3, Warp 4, WSeB, MCP, or eCS installation files with FixPaks, and supports the creation of updated installation floppies. You can use the updated OS/2 image in combination with these floppies to create new installations of OS/2 which already incorporate the FixPaks and other software. RxLVM version 0.5.1 has been released (3/19/2007). This is a library of REXX functions for accessing information from the OS/2 Logical Volume Manager (LVM). You can get information about drives, volumes, and partitions, query Boot Manager, and check for removeable media.

CTorrent dnh 2.2 has been ported (2/25/2007) to OS/2. This is a BitTorrent client program, an efficient system for distributing files over the Internet.

Kon version 2.10 has been released (2/23/2007). This is a programmable text editor with syntax highlighting, regular expressions, hex editing, column selection, and more. There is also a mailing list for discussion and releasing test versions.

ZeroToaster version 2.80b has been released (2/14/2007). This is a POP3 and SMTP mail server with spam filtering which runs on Java. Thanks to Bernd Hohmann for the info.

SERexxObex version 0.2 has been released (2/11/2007). This is a REXX script for listing, copying and deleting files from mobile phones (tested with a Sony Ericsson K310i via IRDA). From VOICE News.

ConText version 0.4 has been released (2/11/2007). This simple utility lets you convert text from one arbitrary codepage to another, and supports the pasting of Unicode text from the clipboard, converting it into the selected target codepage on the fly.

JRescuer has been updated (2/8/2007). JUne (JFS Unerase) is also included. This is a tool to rescue files from a JFS volume which can not be mounted. From OS2.org.

PSPM version 1.19 has been released (2/2/2007). This is a graphical view to the process tree with kill features and process details.

Broadcom NIC drivers for the BCM57xx chipsets have been updated (2/1/2007) to version 10.03.

Syslogd/2 version 2.01 has been released (1/26/2007). This is a syslogd clone that can receive both IPC and UDP messages, and log to a file or forward to a central syslogd server.

PMDCalc Plus version 1.00 RC1 has been released (1/22/2007). This is a lightweight calculator for daily office use, which is optimized for fast and simple calculations.

MiniLVM version 2.20 beta has been released (1/21/2007) on the eComstation BetaZone. This is a replacement GUI for managing LVM volumes. From VOICE News.

XSane version 0.992 has been ported (1/16/2007) to OS/2. This is a front-end for the SANE scanner drivers that requires XFree86/OS2 and GIMP. From OS2.org.

Paul Smedley has made available (1/2/2007) a preview of an OS/2 port of ISC DHCP version 3.05. Included are a DHCP server, a DHCP client, and a DHCP relay agent.
