ImageMagick version 6.8.7-9 has been ported (12/31/2013) to OS/2. This is a free software suite to create, edit, and compose bitmap images. It can read, convert and write images in a large variety of formats.


Paul Smedley has released (12/31/2013) an OS/2 port of Squid version 3.3.11. Squid offers high performance proxy caching for Web clients supporting FTP, Gopher, and HTTP requests.


More Qt4 apps were ported (12/30/2013) to OS/2, including: Suqoku version 0.6.8e is a Sudoku game; QPeriodicTable version 0.6.0e displays a periodic table; Patience version 1.03e is a solitaire game; Minefield version 0.49e is a minesweeper game; QNetWalk version 1.4 is a game where you connect computers to the central server; fleetingpm version 2.8.3 is a tool for generating and managing passwords; and GameOfLife version 0.20e is a Qt4 version of "Game Of Life".


OGFVIEWER / MESHTOOL has been updated (12/29/2013) to version 1.0.5. This is a cross platform toolkit for viewing and converting 3D models from Autodesk 3DStudio MAX 3DS and game engines like X-Ray (GSC S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series) and MSH (Orion engine v1 MSH - Stalin Subway, Red Veil). It works with the old IBM OpenGL 1.1. The latest version can be found on this Russian forum.


Kawaii Emoji Messenger version 0.1 beta 1 has been ported (12/27/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a multiplatform Facebook client, with a full set of emoji for conversations and comments.


Personal Cards Manager has been updated (12/20/2013). This enables you to store personal data about your friends, colleagues, and customers in objects on the desktop, offering your contacts in mail and applications.


Yet Another OS/2 Shell (YAOS) version 1.9.2 has been released. This is a nice command line shell that features command completion, and many other useful things, and is similar in some ways to bash. Thanks to Dave Saville for the info.


Lewis Rosenthal has modified the Thunderbird extension ImportExportTools version 2.8.0.4 to run under SeaMonkey. This version has support for MailDir storage, and will enable users who opt for MailDir storage in newer versions of SeaMonkey or Thunderbird, and later want to roll back to an older version, to export and then import their messages. The latest version is not yet on the xsidebar site, and can be found via FTP.


More Qt4 apps were ported (11/3/2013) to OS/2, including: DiffPDF version 2.1.3 is for comparing PDF files; and LillePOS version 1.3 is a 'Point Of Sale' application.


easyimagesizer version 3.0.5 has been ported (10/27/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app does batch compression, resizing, and renaming of images.


knotter version 0.9.5a has been ported (10/20/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app allows you to design interlace patterns used as decorations.


CharacterMap/2 version 2.0.5 has been released (10/17/2013). This can be used to view and insert extended characters into documents not found on most keyboards. These include special characters provided in symbol fonts.


QComicBook version 0.9.0 has been ported (10/13/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a viewer for comic book archives.


easyPaint version 0.1.1 has been ported (10/8/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a small painting program.


Highlight version 3.16 has been ported (10/5/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a syntax highlighter which converts sourcecode to various formats including HTML, XHTML, RTF, ODT, LaTeX, TeX, SVG, and BBCode.


DaniS506 version 1.8.15 has been released (10/4/2013); note that the binary is actually nearly 6 months old, but has only now been publicly released. DaniS506 is a replacement for IBM's EIDE driver (IBM1S506), which features: support for Intel, VIA, Ali, SiS, CMD, Promise, Cyrix, HPT, AMD, Artop, SMSC, ServerWorks, Opti, Nvidia, NatSemi, SiliconImage, ITE, ATI, NetCell, Broadcom, JMicron, and Marvell chipsets, SerialATA, PCCard controllers, busmastering, Ultra33-DMA, Ultra ATA-66, Ultra ATA-100, faster PIO due to 32-bit I/O, disk capacities up to 2TiB, and much more.


JExpress version 8.1.4 has been released (9/30/2013). This lets you create Java-based multilingual installers and auto-updaters. An easy to use Swing interface lets you design your installers quickly without requiring any programming. It can also select the exact classes your Java app uses, build your directory tree, and produce JAR files.


QWinFF version 0.1.9 has been ported (9/29/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a GUI front end for converting audio and video files using FFmpeg.


kchmviewer version 6.0 has been ported (9/3/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a viewer for MS HTML help files.


More Qt4 apps were ported (8/27/2013) to OS/2, including: 2mp3 version 0.0.1 is a front end for the lame encoder and MPlayer, designed to allow easy extraction from audio tracks; and Facebook version 1.0 is a Facebook desktop client.


EmperoarTV version 2.07 has been released (8/25/2013). This software brings support for many DVB cards, as well as the Hauppauge PVR150/250/350/500 TV cards to the OS/2 platform, including high quality MPEG2 hard disk recording and playback. You can listen to FM radio programs in stereo, watch TV programs in excellent image quality, and more, with support for both WarpOverlay and SNAP overlays. Also available is DVDFront, a front end that simplifies the creation of video DVDs out of recordings made by EmperoarTV. There is an online forum for discussion as well. The good news is that this version is now free to use, and does not require a license key; the bad news is that development has ended. From OS2.org.


tar-backup 20130818 has been ported (8/19/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a GUI front end for creating backups with the tar utility.


Tanglet version 1.2.2 has been ported (8/8/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a word finding game based on Boggle.


Kalkulon version 3.0.4.0 has been ported (7/31/2013) to OS/2. This is a programmable expression calculator, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


Ascii Design version 1.0.2 has been ported (7/24/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app enables you to create ascii art text for web sites, e-mail, text files, etc.


GNU Ocrad version 0.22 has been ported (7/18/2013) to OS/2. This is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program, that reads a bitmap image in pbm, pgm and ppm formats and produces text in 8-bit or UTF-8 formats.


GMail Herald version 0.4 has been ported (7/12/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a notifier for new GMail messages.


GSView version 5.0 has been ported (6/19/2013) to OS/2. This is a graphical document viewer that uses Ghostscript as its display engine.


Keyboard Layer/2 version 3.0.2 has been released (6/18/2013). This is an alternative keyboard layout switcher, and can also be used as a current layout indicator.


Auto Wget Daemon version 1.9.4 has been released (6/10/2013). Auto Wget Daemon is a GUI front end to WGET, that allows you to start downloading by dragging a url into a dedicated folder. It supports a download queue and continuing where it left off.


Lewis Rosenthal has repackaged (5/31/2013) the RPM builds (from 3/29/2013) of Info-Zip Zip version 3.0 and UnZip version 6.0, and uploaded them to Hobbes (Zip | UnZip). These are compressor / archiver utilities that are compatible with PKZIP, and now include support for bzip2 compression. There are also other builds by Paul Smedey, and direct from Info-Zip.


PNGcrush version 1.7.59 has been ported (5/29/2013) to OS/2. This is for size reduction of the PNG IDAT datastream by trying various compression levels and PNG filter methods.


Paul Smedley has released (5/26/2013) a build of hpaio version 3.13.3. This allows you to use HP scanners (network and/or USB) with SANE.


feff version 1.9.2 has been ported (5/26/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a front end for ffmpeg.


libusb version 1.0 has been ported (5/25/2013) to OS/2. This is a C library that gives applications easy access to USB devices; the "lsusb" sample program is also available. This library will be used by all future builds of CUPS, SANE and hplip to provide support for USB devices.


CCSRCH version 1.0.9 has been ported (5/21/2013) to OS/2. This is a tool for searching filesystems for credit card information. It can be useful for helping ensure sensitive info is not where it shouldn't be, for compliance or privacy reasons. Thanks to Lewis Rosenthal for the info.


Analog version 6.0 has been ported (5/21/2013) to OS/2. Analog is a log file analyser, useful with the Apache web server. The latest OS/2 port can be found on Hobbes. Thanks to Lewis Rosenthal for the info.


NYAOS version 3.3.8_0 has been released (5/3/2013). This is an enhanced command line shell, which has some similarities to tcsh.


QPass version 1.3.2 has been ported (4/3/2013) to OS/2. This is a password manager application, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


HgExplorer version 0.7.2 has been ported (4/1/2013) to OS/2. This is a GUI for working with the Mercurial source control system, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


CommuniGate Pro version 5.4.10 has been released (3/28/2013). This is an Internet messaging server with email, calendaring, instant messaging, and application sharing.


Association Editor version 2.1.2 has been released (3/25/2013). This tool allows you to inspect or modify associations set for file and type filters. The latest versions fix various minor bugs, and source code is now included. Thanks to Lewis Rosenthal for the info.


libcddb version 1.3.2 has been ported (3/24/2013) to OS/2. This is a library that implements the protocols for accessing data on a CDDB server, such as freedb.org.


QVim version 7.3.762 has been ported to OS/2, and is available for a nominal fee. This is the Vi Improved (Vim) editor, with a Qt GUI. From VOICE News.


FlashBlock version 1.5.17 (for Firefox 4 and later) and version 1.3.20 (for other Mozilla browsers) have been released (3/23/2013). This is a Mozilla / Firefox extension that replaces Flash animations with a "click to play" placeholder; there is now support for HTML5 Video as well.


nobleNote version 1.0.7 has been ported (3/21/2013) to OS/2. Thisis a simple note taking app, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


Privoxy (formerly JunkBuster) version 3.0.21 has been released (3/9/2013). This is a web proxy with advanced filtering capabilities for protecting privacy, filtering web page content, managing cookies, controlling access, and removing ads, banners, pop-ups and other obnoxious Internet junk.


cadaver version 0.23.3.1 has been ported (3/3/2013) to OS/2. This is a command line WebDAV client.


Gottet version 1.0.5 has been ported (3/1/2013) to OS/2. This is a Tetris clone which uses the Qt4 libraries.


Lewis Rosenthal created a EDM/2 search plugin for Firefox and SeaMonkey to access the EDM/2 wiki, including the Config.sys Documentation Project. This allows you to look up article text and CONFIG settings without having to navigate to the wiki first. He also pointed out the Add to Search Bar extension, which allows for adding virtually any site's search to the search bar.


Peg-Solitaire version 2.0 has been ported (2/25/2013) to OS/2. This is a peg removal game, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


OwnCloud Desktop Sync Client version 1.2.0 has been ported to OS/2, and is available for a nominal fee. The ownCloud service is also being offered, if you don't have your own server or account already. From VOICE News.


WarpSans extended sizes version 1.00 has been released (2/21/2013). This is an unofficial extension of WarpSans, which provides larger point sizes for high resolution screens.


CapiCity version 1.0 has been ported (2/21/2013) to OS/2. This is a Monopoly game client for monopd, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


DjVuLibre version 3.5.25 has been ported (2/19/2013) to OS/2. This is a library for viewing DjVu documents.


Kapow version 1.4.4 has been ported (2/17/2013) to OS/2. This is a punch clock program for keeping track of project hours, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


Simsu version 1.2.3 has been ported (2/15/2013) to OS/2. This is a version of the Sudoku game, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


jhead version 2.97 has been released (2/12/2013). This is a program for manipulating settings and thumbnails in Exif jpeg headers.


C.a.R. version 11.0 has been released. This is a Java program that simulates school geometry constructions with a pair of compasses and a straightedge (ruler).


Peg-e version 1.1.2 has been ported (2/7/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a peg removal game.


CopyQ version 1.6.1 has been ported (2/3/2013) to OS/2. This is a clipboard manager with history, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


HolyServices version 1.0.0.23 has been ported (1/29/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app offers calendar-like planning of holy services for small parishes, with connections to iCal supporting time-organizers.


Vacuum Instant Messenger version 1.2.1 has been ported (1/26/2013) to OS/2, and is available for a nominal fee. There is also an older (1/16/2011) port of version 1.0.2 available. This is a Qt4-based IM client with support for multiple accounts in one profile, and many other features. From VOICE News.


Lewis Rosenthal has been been working with Philip Chee of xSidebar fame, adding SeaMonkey support to some Firefox and Thunderbird extensions. They should show up on xSidebar in time, but Lewis has some available (1/20/2013) on his FTP server, including Abduction! version 3.0.17, BetterPrivacy version 1.68, Evernote Web Clipper version 5.5, and FireFTP version 2.0.7.


SubMix version 0.1b has been ported (1/15/2013) to OS/2. This is a program to join subtitle files for movie clips, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


2Pnotes version 2.0.5 has been ported (1/14/2013) to OS/2. This is a program for managing login data and other personal information, which uses the Qt4 libraries.


JIM Finance version 0.1.2 has been ported to OS/2, and is available for a nominal fee. This Qt4 app allows small companies to manage their invoices for goods sold.


More fonts have been packaged (1/5/2013) for OS/2: Heuristica version 1.01, a TrueType serif font based on Adobe Utopia; and Charter version 2.00, a serif font designed by Bitstream for digital printing.


oragir version 0.2.1b has been ported (1/4/2013) to OS/2. This Qt4 app is a client for the LiveJournal web service.


JMCAD version 09.157 has been released (1/4/2013). This is a Java program for the modeling and simulation of complex dynamic systems using block diagrams.
